
Transforming disability reporting in the newsrooms
December 16, 2024In the lead-up to the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26), which took place in Glasgow, UK, between 31 October and 12 November 2021, CIVICUS interviewed civil society activists, leaders, and experts about the environmental challenges they faced in their contexts, the actions they were undertaking to tackle them, and their expectations for the summit.
CIVICUS spoke with Nyang’ori Ohenjo, Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Minority Rights Development (CEMIRIDE), a Kenyan civil society organisation that advocated for the recognition of minorities and Indigenous peoples in political, legal, and social processes and worked to empower communities to achieve sustainable livelihoods.
